Landscapes can be divided into natural and cultural types. However, there are practically no areas in Europe that can be considered "natural" - without human influence or presence. The interrelationship between nature and people varies from place to place, due to the differences in physical conditions (topography, climate, geology, soils and biota and the type of human impact.
