What can be done

New measures will be needed to reduce emissions of acidifying pollutants, especially those produced by the manufacturing industry, power generators, agriculture and, above all, transport.

Cars, air travel, heating, manufacturing and intensive agriculture all inevitably contribute to acidification. Distributing information to the public can help change behaviour regarding the more rational use of energy, production capacity and transport, and more sustainable approaches to agricultural production.
